Refurbishment
The current owners have refurbished the property to an exceptionally high standard, whilst keeping the character of the house and all existing period features intact. The wiring, plumbing and heating have all been recently upgraded. The majority of the house has been replastered.
Ground Floor
On the ground floor the drawing room has been restored to its original shape and along with the dining room has been kept to a period design. This is contrasted by the modern open plan kitchen and family room, with its limestone flooring throughout leading to the limestone patio in the well planned landscaped garden. A modern Shaker style kitchen has been fitted, including a Rangemaster cooker in the old fireplace with built in extractor fan and lighting. To keep clutter to a minimum there is also an excellent utility room with plenty of storage and plumbing for a washing machine and there is also a coat and boot cupboard by the rear patio doors.
First Floor
The first floor has definitely been designed with a family in mind two good sized double rooms to the front of the property, an Art Deco family bathroom with beautiful full height black and white tiling on the walls and with airing cupboard, and the fifth bedroom is currently used as a DJ room, benefiting from soundproofing!
Top Floor
The top floor has two further double bedrooms and the second bathroom, with freestanding Victorian-style bath and art nouveau tiling. The master bedroom with walk in closet has views to the front of the property towards the old Chapel while the largest bedroom with double aspect, overlooks the Abbey grounds, Crosstrees Farm and Crosstrees Lane to the rear.
Exterior
At the front of the property there is enough off road parking for 5 vehicles. To the rear is a beautifully landscaped garden, with a limestone patio, steps to a lawned area surrounded by flowerbeds and sheltered by a mix of brick and stone walls in the local style. The wall to the side of the garden has been completely rebuilt using only the existing or locally sourced stone. The garden itself has 3 double power sockets along its length. At the end of the garden there is a gate leading to the vegetable garden and double garage.
