Location: Clyro is a small village, which stands astride the A438 some 22 miles west of Hereford and about 1-½ miles from Hay On Wye. Local Facilities include a shop/post office, petrol filling station, primary school, public house and church. Nearby Hay On Wye is a renowned for its large number of second hand bookshops and its annual literary festival at the end of May. Sacred Cottage is situated in a quiet location away from the main road.

Description: A charming period cottage believed to date from the 14th Century originally being the resting house for monks travelling between Abbeycwmhir and Llanthony Priory. Clyro was the parish of the Reverend Kilverts and the cottage is mentioned in his famous diaries. It has been beautifully restored retaining its great character including period floorboards, exposed beams and an inglenook fireplace.
