Isleworth is a peaceful, historic town located in the London Borough of Hounslow. The area has a rich and diverse Saxon history. Excavations in the area have uncovered evidence of an early Roman-British settlement dating back to the year 695. During the Victorian and Georgian eras, beautiful mansions were constructed to house the aristocracy, and examples of fine Georgian architecture can be seen dotted around the town to this day.

Isleworth is also home to a number of picturesque stately homes and listed buildings, many of which are open to the public for recreational visits. One such home is Osterley House. Upkeep of the house and its grounds is maintained by the National Trust.
There are a number of schools in the area, including Isleworth Town, Spring Grove and St Mary’s. Secondary schools include the Green School for Girls and Isleworth and Syon School for Boys. Olympic gold medallist Mo Farrah attended Isleworth’s all-boys school during his teenage years and a gold post box celebrating his roots in the town is situated on the high street.
