Guide to Windlesham

Windlesham is a picturesque village in the heart of Surrey Heath with a population of over 4,300. Its name is taken from the Windle Brook River which runs south of the village. Nearby villages include Sunningdale, Bagshot, Lightwater and Chobham.

There is a thriving community in Windlesham. The focal point of the village is its church, St John the Baptist. The Windlesham Club and Theatre has sports facilities and is home to the Windlesham Amateur Dramatics Society. There is also a wide choice of public houses in and around the village including The Windmill which dates back to 1892. Windlesham Golf Club features an excellent 18-hole championship golf course which is hugely popular with local residents and is fast becoming recognised as one of the very best in the county. There is also lovely countryside to explore including The Arboretum and the Field of Remembrance.

The two village infant schools, Valley End First School and Windlesham First School achieve outstanding academic results each year, making the village a great place to raise a young family.
