Meet some of our Top Performers

Daniel Mourton, Marketing Executive

My Story: My Professional Development

Daniel has worked for Chancellors Estate Agents since February 2012, joining our Head Office team from a London-based marketing agency. This role sees him working closely with the Directors to develop the Groups’ multimedia marketing strategy. Daniel is a valued member of the Head Office team and is always on hand to offer advice and guidance to employees across the company.

Having graduated from The University College for the Creative Arts in 2008, Daniel has seen the merits of his education contribute towards his professional development. As a result, Daniel is continuously looking to further his development both academically and professionally. In order to support this, Daniel has undertaken training from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and is currently studying marketing at a postgraduate level.

“Having been in the marketing communications industry since finishing university, I was looking for a client-side role which allowed me to take more ownership of a range of projects on a long-term basis. I applied for the position at Chancellors as the role is a diverse one allowing me to concentrate on several media types at different levels – everything from basic leaflet designs through to radio advertising and developing the Group’s website portfolio which includes the main website for Chancellors, Anscombe & Ringland and Russell Baldwin & Bright.

Supporting our brand’s online presence is something which occupies a significant part of my daily workload. Working with external partners, I developed much of the content on our website when it was re-launched towards the end of 2012. To support the launch, I undertook additional training in Search Engine Optimisation and Digital Marketing in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of Marketing. This vastly expanded my knowledge of the online space, and as a result we have seen our website traffic grow massively in less than a year.

My role sees me working with staff at all levels to ensure that we as a company are able to maximise opportunities for exposure in all our operational locations. This could be in the form of a bespoke piece of targeted direct mail or simply a short mention through social media on a locally relevant topic. My greatest involvement in our local outreach is through the company’s corporate and social responsibility programme, which sees us engage with and financially support over 100 school and local charity events each year across our network.

I’m also tasked with developing a range of short-term campaigns to keep the brand name in the public eye. In the last year, this has seen me developing a range of press advertising and also working with our creative agency to establish a striking advertising presence on the London Underground, on radio throughout Oxfordshire and also with other outdoor advertising such as bus sides and petrol forecourts.

My role in Chancellors is very diverse, where no two days are the same. As an expanding company I am continuously involved in new projects providing me with new challenges and experiences, whilst enhancing my development on a personal level. To assist my continued development, Chancellors are currently supporting me to study for my MSc in Marketing, which will see me further develop my knowledge and range of skills.”
