Following our blog ‘New Oxford to London Rail Link Given the Green Light’ announcing the building of a new train station at Water Eaton near Kidlington in Oxfordshire, we take a look at the impact this new station has had on property prices in the local area.

Chiltern Railways brand new service from Oxford Parkway to London Marylebone via Bicester opened in October 2015. With two new fast trains per hour throughout the day, the journey time is approximately one hour. Some buyers, particularly from London, are being attracted to the Kidlington area because of this new commuter line where property tends to be cheaper than in the outskirts of the capital and the better quality of life that comes with living in the Oxfordshire countryside.

A typical property in Kidlington is a three bedroom semi-detached house. Announcement of the new station was nearly three years ago – based on property sales between 2014 and 2015 in the Garden City area of Kidlington, we have seen prices for this type of property rise by over 30%.

If you are thinking of selling your Kidlington property, get in touch with our branch or book a free, no-obligation market appraisal to find out how we can achieve the best price for your property. With our extensive branch network including London, we have a huge number of buyers registered with us, giving you a wide audience for your property.
