More than 1,500 runners took part in the 5km run dressed up as Father Christmas for the annual Santa Run. This represents the strong community that can be found in Reading and the charitable nature of the residents. The Mayor of Reading Councillor Mohammed Ayub, set off the runners and gave out awards for the first 5 people that made it all the way to the end.

This charitable event took place on Sunday December 4th and raised money for two important local charities the Daisy’s Dream, which supports bereaved children, and the Reading-based Number 5 youth counselling Service.
