Guide to Farnborough

The north-east Hampshire town of Farnborough, within the borough of Rushmoor near the Surrey border, has existed since the Saxon period. It has a population of 65,034 and is situated 34 miles south-west of London, 16 miles east of Basingstoke. Farnborough is part of the Blackwater Valley conurbation along with Aldershot, Camberley, Yateley, Sandhurst, Frimley and Farnham.

Farnborough is directly south of junction 4 on the M3, with the A325 at the north from Frimley and the A331 running from north to south. There are three railway stations in the town – Farnborough (Main), Farnborough North and North Camp.

Farnborough is known for its links with aviation due to being the home of Samuel Franklin Cody, one of the early aviation pioneers.
