On Saturday, 29th November, Carterton Town Centre was transformed into a festive wonderland as the community gathered for the annual Christmas Lights Switch-On and Fayre. The event, which ran from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, featured a bustling market filled with crafts, gifts, and delicious refreshments, alongside funfair rides, live music, and plenty of festive entertainment.
We’re proud to say that Chancellors Carterton played a part in making this event shine even brighter as one of the sponsors. Supporting local traditions like this is at the heart of what we do, and it was wonderful to see so many families and friends come together to celebrate the start of the holiday season.
Families were thrilled to visit Father Christmas in his grotto, and the much-loved lantern parade set off from Carterton Community College at 5:15 PM, creating a magical lead-up to the big moment at 6:00 PM when the lights were switched on by a special guest in Market Square.
Despite a wet start to the day, the rain held off for the afternoon, allowing crowds to enjoy the festivities in full. Everything went really well, and the turnout was fantastic, with the town buzzing with excitement and festive cheer.
From sparkling lights to joyful carols and community spirit, the Carterton Christmas Lights Switch-On truly marked the beginning of Christmas in style. Here’s to an even bigger and brighter celebration next year!
