Carterton‘s annual May Day Fair took place this Bank Holiday Monday at the Recreation Ground.

Louise who represented Chancellors on the day was invited to be a judge for the scarecrow competition again this year, and expressed her enjoyment after the excellent day had.

“Despite the weather threatening rain at times, the Carterton May Day Fair was another massive success with the crowds out in force as usual to support the annual event. I was presented with a sash which stated “Scarecrow Judge” to wear whilst in my judging capacity, which made me laugh and I felt very important! First prize went to 10 Squadron Charities Commission for their scarecrow of Rocky, second prize went to Caitlin James on the Smash Stall for her Ghostbusters duo, and third prize went to the 3rd Brize Norton RAF Guides for their scarecrow of Joy from Inside Out. It was impressive to see how much effort everyone had put into making their scarecrows for everyone to enjoy as they walked around.
I love these events that bring the community together and it was a privilege to be involved in Chancellors sponsorship of it, which helps the event to go ahead every year.”

Lots of fun was had at this year’s May Day Fair and are already looking forward to the next!
