Whilst it is perhaps a little premature to give our UK housing market predictions for 2013, we can say that the early signs are looking very promising, and at Chancellors Estate Agents we have seen some very impressive numbers for the New Year.

Property Sales in 2013

The number of sales applicants (potential property buyers) registered with us in the first ten days of 2013 are up 69% on the first ten days of 2012, and viewing numbers are up 18%.

This has been helped by the fact that property stocks are 13.5% higher than the same time last year.

Market Appraisals booked are up 82% for the first ten days of 2013 on 2012. This has translated to property listings increasing by 20% on the same period. We would expect this to grow as more of the additional Appraisals booked then come to market.

Net sales agreed for the same period are up 22%.

Property Lettings in 2013

We have seen an increase of 22% on lettings applicants (potential tenants) compared to the same ten days, with the number of viewings booked up 16%.

Market Appraisals booked are up by 65% and this has led to an impressive growth in instructions of 72%. Bearing in mind that we are talking about the first ten days of the year, the number of offers agreed has already seen growth of 2%.

The bad weather of the last few days may put a slight dampener on the figures, but suffice to say the signs are very promising for a record 2013.
