As 2022 comes to an end, we’re taking a look back at the great things we have achieved this year.

January – April 2022

We opened the doors to our 57th branch, Basingstoke. Located on Winchester Street in the town centre, the branch is the second office to open in Hampshire, after the Fleet office which opened in 2021.

Our Woking branch was refurbished to look sleek and modern. Fitted with new furniture, a fresh coat of paint, and our much-loved wall map of the local area.

As part of our standard terms when selling with us, we offer drone and internal video footage as standard as part of our marketing package to promote your property. We were able to use this content to promote on our social channels which meant more exposure to get your property sold.

 

 

May 2022

We received a Corporate Visions 2022 Corporate Excellence Award for Best Independent Estate Agents 2022.

We went Carbon Neutral to become more eco-friendly and to help lessen our carbon footprint. In the space of 7 months, we’ve come a long way in helping to lessen our carbon footprint, right from the get-go, we were committed to making changes which have included:

  • Recycling our old IT equipment.
  • We’re using two certified fully carbon neutral companies to both supply and carry out the installation of all of our boards.
  • Using LED lighting where possible in our offices.
  • All of the paper stocks used by Chancellors in creating printed materials fall under the FCS Mix Controls.
  • The promotional marketing materials that we use are manufactured and supplied by BMM Ltd, which is a member of ecologi.com. They pay a monthly subscription to support growing new forests, reduce carbon pollution, and fund climate projects.

 

June – August 2022

In June we released our newest house-hunting feature, Search by Travel Time meaning customers can search for properties to buy or rent by inserting the postcode of the location that they need to get to such as work, school, close to town or family/friends, etc. Then select a range of travel time that they are comfortable with getting to that postcode, pop in the mode of transport (this could be by car, walking, train, cycling, or public transport), and then hit search. The result shown is all of our listings in that area.

We’ve partnered with the Dogs Trust Lets with Pets scheme, which assists pet owners in finding a pet-friendly rental property.

Accommodating pets is now the most common reason for tenants moving with 30% saying the reason they moved was to accommodate a pet according to the DPS’ 2022 tenant survey which took part between October 2021 and March 2022.

Three months since we became a Carbon Neutral company, we embarked on the project of changing the office lights to LED lights across all of our 58 branches. We are still embarking on this project but hope this will be completed in early 2023.

 

 

September 2022

Worcester became our 58th branch to open located on Foregate Street, just 213 feet away from Worcester Foregate Street train station.

We’re still offering 0% commission to the first 100 customers who sell their property with us, and 0% lettings and property management fees for the first 50 customers who let their property with us. This will end early next year so take advantage today!

We found out that all 7 of our entries for the UK Property Awards had been successful and at the awards ceremony in October, the following branches took home the following awards:

We believe we became one of the first Estate Agents in the UK to add geo-located QR codes to our boards, an interactive feature that allows customers to get a sneak peek of the property for sale or let. The feature is quick and easy to use and all you have to do is scan your smartphone camera at the QR code, approve our site for location features on your phone and the property listings in the area will show, closest first. Once you have found a property that you like the look of in the local area to you, you will be able to scroll through images, request a viewing, and call/email the local branch.

 

 

October 2022

The government’s Help to Buy equity loan ended on the 31st October and allowed first-time buyers in England to purchase a new build house with just a 5% deposit. Throughout the year, we had a range of different homes for sale which offered Help to Buy – it was a fantastic way of getting first-time buyers onto the property market.

 

 

November 2022

In November, our Bicester office moved to a brand-new location in Sheep Street! Group Associate Director, Jonathan Seabert MNAEA commented “It’s brilliant to see the team move into upgraded premises following a period of significant growth in Bicester. Our offering in the town is going from strength to strength and our new home promises even more exposure to our growing list of local clients.”

Our high-performing employees were awarded an all-expenses paid trip of a lifetime to South Africa! Seeing some world-famous landmarks including Table Mountain and searching for the ‘big 5.’

 

 

December 2022

December saw the release of our WhatsApp for Business Communication Channel allowing customers to reach out to us on another platform and get help with any of their queries.

Events Throughout the Year

Getting involved in the local community is important to Chancellors, with 58 branches and counting, we’re always keen to spread the word about local events by sponsoring them.

Throughout 2022, we have sponsored 33 events, some of which include Walk for WardsWhitehall Park Summer Fete, and The Vineyard School in Richmond which was our 24th consecutive year!
