Freeland is a particularly attractive Oxfordshire village set within the countryside of west Oxfordshire, combining traditional village character with a peaceful rural setting and convenient access to the surrounding towns and amenities.
The village has a strong community atmosphere and a range of local amenities, including the village hall, recreation ground, sports facilities and children's play areas. There is also a popular village pub, St Mary's Church and Freeland Church of England Primary School, whilst the surrounding countryside provides excellent opportunities for walking, cycling and enjoying the attractive Oxfordshire landscape.
For everyday shopping and a wider choice of restaurants, leisure facilities and services, the market town of Witney is approximately four miles away, with Woodstock and Chipping Norton also within easy reach. The nearby village of Long Hanborough provides further amenities and a railway station, with regular services towards Oxford and London, whilst Oxford itself is readily accessible for employment, shopping, culture and entertainment.
Freeland also benefits from its position within easy reach of the Cotswolds and some of west Oxfordshire's most attractive countryside, whilst its proximity to the A40 provides convenient road links towards Oxford and Witney. The combination of attractive surroundings, village community, local amenities and excellent accessibility makes Freeland an appealing choice for those looking to enjoy a genuinely rural village lifestyle whilst remaining within easy reach of Oxford and the wider Oxfordshire region.

Regulations require that we undertake identity and AML checks, and secure information on the circumstances of your purchase in line with our obligations to verify your identity and complete Customer Due diligence as part of you agreeing any offer with our client. These are dictated by regulation and enforced by trading standards. Whilst we retain responsibility for ensuring checks are carried out correctly and for ongoing monitoring, the initial checks are carried out on our behalf by Lifetime Legal who will contact you once you have agreed to instruct us in your sale or made an offer on a property you wish to buy that is provisionally agreeable to our client.
We have looked to provide benefits alongside undertaking these checks to ensure this is not an additional cost to you. These include complementary Lifetime Legal membership for 3 months, and where you use Chancellors Conveyancing services we have also arranged for this cost to include the AML/ Customer due diligence cost your solicitor would normally charge you for their regulated required checks. The cost of these checks is £80 plus VAT (£96 inc VAT), which covers the cost of obtaining relevant data and any manual checks and monitoring which might be required. This fee is paid in advance, directly to Lifetime Legal and is non-refundable.
