Ken Wood's 100th birthday marked by plans to unveil plaque
Ken Wood (1916-1997), made a fortune by producing the Kenwood Mixer, and launched his electrical equipment firm from a small lock-up in Goldsworth Road, Woking. Ever since then he has been a source of pride for the local community. An impressive blue plaque commemorating Ken Wood is due to be placed outside his former set-up on Goldsworth Road this year. Mr Wood joyously became one of Britain’s youngest millionaires and his company later set up factories in many countries around the world, as well as an international dealer network.
