Located in the south-west of England, Wellington is a small village set in the heart of rustic Herefordshire. Just a five-minute drive north of Hereford and within an hour of the cities of Gloucester and Worcester, it perfectly combines rural charm with convenient access to shops and transport links. Characterised by winding country lanes and wood-beamed houses, Wellington is the archetypal English village. T
here’s even a fantastic village pub, The Old Boot at Wellington, which is a gorgeous spot to enjoy a hearty meal on a cold night or a frosty beer on a hot summer’s day. References to the existence of a settlement in the area can be traced all the way back to 1038, when the name was given as “Weolintun”. Later, the village became a popular stopping-off point for travellers on the main Hereford to Leominster road (now the A49).
