Archway is an inner-city area located in the London Borough of Islington, 3.8 miles north of Charing Cross. The area is serviced by seven bus routes and an Underground station. The closest Overground station is Upper Holloway. The Archway Road forms part of the A1, which runs all the way from London to Edinburgh. The Archway area has five parks within one mile of the closest tube station, each of which is perfect for days out and lunchtime picnics. There are also numerous green spaces in between the numerous blocks of the mid-rise residential estates. Archway is home to Whittington Hospital, which has a number of buildings and specialisations. It was named after Sir Richard Whittington and managed by Whittington Health, which provides both hospital and community health services in the boroughs of Haringey and Islington.
