Surrounded by heathland, Chobham is a medium-sized village in North West Surrey. Nearby villages and towns include Sunningdale, Lightwater and Woking. An historic village, many fine farmhouses were built in Chobham as part of the great redevelopment in south east England in the 16th century. As a result, many beautiful older houses and cottages can be found on the many roads and lanes leading to and from the village. Two small rivers run through the village, the Mill Bourne and the Bourne. Nearby Chobham Common is a National Nature Reserve and provides plenty of open countryside for leisure and exercise, and is popular with horse riders (the village has become a well-known equestrian centre).
