Thames Ditton is a suburban village on the River Thames, in the Elmbridge borough of Surrey. The name of the town means “farm by the ditch or dyke”. It has a large inhabited island in the middle of the river, today known as Thames Ditton Island, but traditionally referred to as Colly’s Eite.
Thames Ditton features many detached family homes, as well as many purpose-built and converted flats to rent or buy.
Places of interest in Thames Ditton include Hampton Court Palace, the home of Henry VIII and his many wives. If wildlife and nature is more to your liking, Richmond Park is an ex-17th century hunting ground and is still home to hundreds of deer.
Restaurants in Thames on Ditton include the dog-friendly Maisie Thai Restaurant and The Albany – a riverside gastropub serving Italian-inspired dishes.
