The Times recently published a list of the 30 best towns in Britain, and we were delighted to see that Chipping Norton was among them. Their selection was based on a town’s history, housing, amenities and of course, their looks. We certainly feel this accolade for Chipping Norton is well justified, having offered residential sales and lettings in the town for many years.

Bliss Mill, Chipping Norton

Here are some of the reasons why Chipping Norton is one of the best towns to live in the UK. Firstly, it has a reputation as being somewhere with excellent quality of life, and boasts many well-known residents, including David and Samantha Cameron, Elisabeth Murdoch and Matthew Freud.

Many of the homes in the area are hewn from honey-coloured stone and are, in the words of The Times’ Property and Money Editor “to die for”. The peaceful, picturesque town has some excellent facilities and amenities, including pubs and restaurants of the same standard one would expect in London.

The Times also describes the area as being “a mix of locals and weekending Londoners, although the area is increasingly coming on to the radar of wealthy international buyers who already have a home in the Capital.”
