Ruislip is served by the London Underground. Stations in the area are: Ruislip Station, Ruislip Manor Station, Ruislip Gardens Station, South Ruislip Station and West Ruislip Station. There are also a number of London buses servicing the Ruislip area. There are a number of notable landmarks in Ruislip. These include Village Square, which includes a number of Grade II listed buildings including the Duck House Restaurant. To the north of Ruislip High Street is Manor Farm, which stretches over 22 acres of land. 

It incorporates he remains of 9^th century settlements and is a designated heritage site funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Ruislip also has a 19^th century reservoir known as Ruislip Lido, which has an artificial sand beach and is surrounded by picturesque woodlands. Through these woodlands runs the Ruislip Lido Railways, a miniature gauge railway with both steam and diesel locomotives.  

Ruislip is an affluent suburb situated in West London and forms part of the London Borough of Hillingdon. 

There are a number of primary schools located in Ruislip, including Bishop Winnington Ingram Church of England Primary School, Bourne Primary School, Lady Bankes Infant School, Lady Bankes Junior School, Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, Whiteheath Infant School and Whiteheath Junior School. Secondary schools in the area include Bishop Ramsey School and Ruislip High School.

Ruislip has two non-league football clubs: Wealdstone FC (based at the Grosvenor Vale Stadium) and Hillingdon Borough FC (based at the Middlesex Stadium). The area also has its own rugby club based in West End Road. 

There is also a golf course in Ruislip, and the area also boasts Eastcote Hockey Club, based at Kings College playing fields. Ruislip Eagles West London Handball Club has both male and female competitive teams and is based in South Ruislip’s Queensmead Sport Centre.
