The Oxford Mail has highlight new Land Registry figures for September which show that average house prices in Oxford have increased since September by 2.5 per cent.
This took the average house price in Oxford to £418,410 up £407,949. The picture was better than that across the South East, where prices increased one per cent, with Oxford outperforming the 0.2 per cent drop seen across the UK as a whole.
Owners of detached houses saw the biggest improvement in property prices in Oxford in September – they increased 2.8 per cent, to £829,234 on average– but over the last year, prices dropped by 1.7 per cent.
First-time buyers in the city spent an average of £ 371,300 on their property – £8,000 less than a year ago, and £52,500 more than in September 2014.
